Brat-L -- An email list for official BRAT business

About Brat-L
English (USA)

We appreciate your interest in Basenji rescue and welcome you to Basenji Rescue & Transport, Inc.

BRAT is the largest basenji rescue organization in the world as well as the largest basenji group of *any* kind. We were founded in 1997 by members of the Internet Basenji List who wanted to help rescue more basenjis by using the resources of the world wide web. In 1999, we incorporated and were recognized by the IRS as a tax exempt charity. We currently have more than 1000 members throughout the United States and in Canada.

BRAT does not charge dues and is supported 100% by our members and by the adoption fees we charge. BRAT volunteers place more than 200 basenji rescue dogs each year. All BRAT members are volunteers---including the officers and directors of the corporation.

There are no minimum work requirements in BRAT---you can do as much or as little as you like. We need people to help screen homes of prospective adopters, evaluate dogs, transport dogs to new homes, and do writing and web related work. ***To become more involved in any of these tasks, please contact the BRAT volunteer for your state.*** A list of state volunteers can be found at:

Welcome to BRAT--we're glad that you have joined us. Please let me know if I can assist you in any way.
